Mid Autumn
By Feng Xin-ming (Cantonese Rhyme and Rhythm)
Bright the moon, in nighttime sky so white and clean,
Casting on our terrace shadows of the trees.
Westerners don't know how good Mid Autumn is --
Neighbors all around have fallen sound asleep.
Only you, my dear, and I sit side-by-side,
Talking happy family news in lowered tones.
Cricket songs bestow delight on tea and cake.
Feelings deeply stirred, the New Year we await.
